    Well, inspired by it... MIT researchers hope than within 10 years a cost effective, closed-loop system can be created from it... and it 'appears' they are freely opening the technology for others to use (if viable).

     Basically you could use photovoltaics (or other input power) to crack water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen... which is then potential energy to use as a fuel cell.
