This product represents a 'kit'. Most solar installations utilize many panels connecting together to provide an aggregate level of power which is appropriate or affordable. In this class (larger scale solar), you might find panels ranging from 50watts to over 150watts each. If your about to build a solar installation you might consider :
- Your optimum power capacity (such as I currently use 2kw of power a day)
- Your feasable power capacity (i could get by on 1kw of power a day)
- Your entry-level (affordable capacity). (I can afford a 200watt kit now but eventually would like 1kw).
Knowing the above items (particularly the second and third one), you calculate cost factors and ability to multiply out to your capacities.
The panels shown here are an ICP Sunsei 400 watt solar kit comprised of 3 panels. They are presented more for concept since you can find higher rated panels much cheaper. This 400 watt kit costs around $2700 on amazon.
To get an idea of best value prices you might check prices on the Alternative Energy Store site as a reference (although i have idea what the availability of any of these panels are). My informal searching there shows BP Solar 80w panels for $520, BP Solar 125w for $750, and large panels such as a Sharp 175w panel for $952.80
